The Bradford Town Youth U9s had the incredible honour of walking out with the adult team for their recent FA Vase First Round game vs Andover New Street. It was a gloriously sunny afternoon which bolstered the spirits of the large crowd of jubilant supporters on both sides.
Although the Bobcats couldn’t manage a home victory they gave a good account of themselves, enjoying a lot of possession and creating some great chances. The 1-2 result reflected a close game and a stunning performance from Bradford Town against a strong opposition.
The U9 Comets thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and were immensely proud to walk out with the team and shake hands with the opposition and officials.
“It was a great exciting feeling for me with my team walking out for the big game with our flags, we were all excited and had an amazing time” Immy, #8
“It was inspiring to walk out with the Bradford players and think that could be me one day” Alex, #10
They watched the game from the side of the pitch, cheering loudly for their team, and played football together on the training pitch at half time.
“Today was my first time watching Bradford play and I loved it!" Murphy, #4
As match sponsors, BTYFC were proud to give out the Bradford Town Player of the Match award at the end of the game. Our congratulations again to Will Stead!
Tim, Vice-President of BTFC said: “We all really enjoy it when we have members of the BTFC Youth come to support us. The U9's were brilliant on Saturday and we could hear their chanting from all corners of the ground! A big thank you to the parents as well for bringing them along and I hope we can have more teams come to visit throughout the season.”
We’re looking forward to the next game and a bright season ahead for the adults and youth teams alike!
